I used to ride with my dad in the potato truck and we would listen to Paul Harvey 's "The Rest of the Story." I miss those long summer days, my dad, and Paul Harvey; but now you may hear the rest of OUR story! ..."Good Day"

P.S. She didn't come empty handed!

Yes, when you clicked on my blog today you definitely hit the "mother-load". What is this... blog #26 for today? LOL!

What do you give a friend from college for her birthday???? Well I won't make you guess. Why a bottle of Liquid Lecithin for bread making, of course!

KayLynn gave me a recipe for homemade bread that can be made from start to finish in an hour. I am SO excited to try it out. The only thing I was missing was this ingredient, which I keep forgetting to stop into the health food store for. So now I don't have to! I will tell you how my bread turns out!

My Birthday Lunch

I just want to say "Thank you" to Kay for the best gift she could give me... We met for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory! I had an absolutely FANTASTIC time. Food was good, the company was great! As I reviewed our pictures of this afternoon, I noticed we aren't the same girls from 16 years ago. Even though our figures haven't lasted the test of time, I am so proud to say that our friendship has. Kay, thank you. I love you very much. You have always been so good to me. To be fair to our figures, I have also posted a picture from college. :D This picture was taken during the first week of our meeting each other, back in 1992!

Alli Rockett

Monday I finally got in to my hairstylist to get a haircut and color. I really love it, Tuesday as I was channel surfing, I stopped on CMT. They have a version of "Cribs", where they go into celebrities homes to see how they live. This particular episode was of Brett Michaels' of Poison. At the end of the show, he had Rikki Rockett over and they were jammin. It suddenly hit me.... I have Rikki Rockett's hair! Mine (surprisingly) isn't as teased up as his, but I think the cut is the same! I have been laughing about it since. I will let you decide!

I had to spell my name with two "L's" on this post only for Rikki's sake. It's definitely edgier with the double consonants.

My Birthday Flowers

Mom, I am finally posting a picture of the flowers you sent! The purple and yellow ones still look great. I did have to pull the Gerber Daisys out... and the pink small roses have "suddenly" disappeared (Abby had been eyeing them ALL week)... hmmm I wonder who took them? LOL!

Love Bug

Utah is finally warming up for Spring. We can hardly stand it. Abby and I have spent quite a bit of time soaking up the sun as she rides her "bike", "car", walking to the park to play, or just writing on the sidewalk with chalk. We are having the best time, EXCEPT, she is pre-occupied with bugs, i.e. bees, ants, rolly-pollys, box elder bugs.... really, anything that moves.

She is so preoccupied that if I tell her, "no, don't bring the bug in the house", she tells me, "NO!" Honestly, I wouldn't mind except for the bees and ants. They both can be very painful when angry. She hasn't gotten a bee yet, but come summer, we will have to have a talk.

As of yet, all the "bugs" have had an unfortunate ending. All have been smothered by her love. Today I noticed her kissing a dead, crushed ant.... Which reminds me of that old Bugs Bunny cartoon.... and I will love him, and hug him, and kiss him...

Abby's New Spring Dress

This picture is a little late in posting, but the stars were finally aligned today and we were able to get a picture taken. Abby's pretty dress was a gift from her Aunt Hilary. The sweater was also from Aunt Hilary, but from the year before... Doesn't it look great with the dress? Anyway, I wanted to post and to say, "Thank you Aunt Hilary, the dress IS perfect!"

However, if right now you are saying to yourself, "Wow, how lady-like, and sweet she looks; let me clarify by saying... this was the only time today that she stood still. She is only two, afterall!

...Suddenly, the mom of the house realized her home was TOO quiet

...and this is what I found. You might be saying to yourself, why is she posting ANOTHER picture of Abby getting into makeup? To answer that, well let me point out her technique, shading, choice of color (I think she was going for an evening look, very smokey eyes), and her sense of style.... Now to be fair, I did take the makeup away, so she was only able to complete one eye, but I think you get the picture....

Mike put her to bed the evening before, but didn't take out her ponytails. On this morning, I left them in thinking, well at least her hair is out of her eyes. Yes it's disastrous, but I was just happy she didn't get maple syrup in her hair at breakfast. I put her in shorts and a t-shirt, but when she went up to my room for her "makeover", she added the leopard print undershirt, green seahorse nightgown and a headband. Personally, I think she is rocked it!
