So because of the sickness in the house, me being Nurse Chapel and not the lunch lady :D... I decided to get us some lunch from "Uncle Ron's" (McDonalds). I have noticed in past meals from Uncle Ron's, that Abby doesn't eat much. So being the frugal person I am, I decided only to buy her some fries and a drink. This would shave off a buck or two... If she wanted a bite of a burger she could have some of mine (she unsually only wants one anyway).
Everything was going according to plan. Abby ate a couple fries, a sip of drink. Then out of no-where she started whining. You know that high-pitched, "you give it to me" whine? I had no idea what she was complaining about. Finally after we went through the, "Do you want a drink? Do you want a fry? Do you want my burger?" Mike finally figured out what she was missing. I could have died with laughter, a little bit of astonishment with a hint of, "this is probably the first of many..."
What she wanted was her "Happy Meal Treat". While mom was trying to save a dollar, I had overlooked Abby's toy. I had never noticed her ever playing with them outside of the initial inspection; maybe a bit more if it happend to light-up or spin... Well, I guess I have now been educated.

You Can Call It The Flu
Yep, we are sick again... Abby started getting sick Friday and by the evening she had a full blown fever. Being the generous daughter that she is, she gave it to me too. I wasn't too worried, I usually don't get very sick; just sick enough to be miserable but not incapacitated. Infact, I haven't had the flu since college and before that, I think the last time I was twelve. So basically every ten years.... Well, by 3:00am Monday morning, I conceded. It definitely was not "just" a cold, we had the flu.
Poor Mike, Monday at 3:00am he was helping Abby get situated again to go back to sleep, then he was running downstairs to get me some Excedrin to break through my fever and chills. Not a great night for any of us. Monday I snapped these pictures of Abby, her expressions mirror the families'. Surprisingly, Mike has only gotten the head-cold part. I'm not sure if I should say, "Yeah, Mike!!!" or "Sorry, you are now the family nurse!"

Today is Much Better
My weekend was SUPER busy, Friday, we went to Lehi to visit a good friend/college roommate and family. Kay, if you are reading this, we had a FANTASTIC time! I didn't even have to pay Mike to say that, either :D..... LOL. You and Mac are fun game players, and I loved the bean game! The company was even better.

Not a good coding day...
I shouldn't be surprised. I mean, I thought I could code last night, then about 12:30am my body started shutting down. I knew I needed to finish the batch, so I laid down for "just" a moment. Well the first thing I knew it was 4:30am (I even set the alarm!). I then decided no accuracy would come of coding then, so I went to bed.
I started again around 7:00am. I received my report of corrections from that batch and I realized how HORRIBLE I did. (Little back story, I was switched earlier this week to a new group, they added another team and now I am part of the addition. So the new QCer I haven't worked with until this week. I know it's obvious, but I'm not impressing anyone!) We are paid by the document. I now understand the company I am working on is completely beyond my mental capacity. Yesterday I only coded 60 documents ALL day and now today seems to be the same... I thing my daily wage as of late is .60/hour... LOL!

Ten Things Abby Does That Melt My Heart
This one is kinda sappy, but since it is Valentine's Day I'm gonna post anyway...
10. When she reaches with both arms out-streched to give me a hug.
9. She pats the couch for me to watch the television program with her.
8. When she tries to give me a "long kiss". I don't know if she has seen Mike and I kiss, or on the television. Very dramatic!
7. The gestures when she is remarking on something. Very outragous!
6. The way she pats her check when she wants a kiss.
5. When she signs, "I love you" with her fingers. The sign is never the same.
4. When she wakes up before me, she comes into my room and climbs in bed. We snuggle for about a half hour.
3. The way she pats my shoulder and wipes both Mike and my brow when she is trying to be tender and motherly.
2. I love the way she "jabbers" in low tones when I am tucking her in her bed. I smile because I think she is trying to tell me about her day.
1. When she hasn't seen me for a while, she will scream, "Hi Abby!" really excitedly.

The Case of the Valentine Card!
So this afternoon, as I coded, Abby walks in with a card. A Valentine's Day card to be specific. She waved it infront of me and runs off. At first I thought she must have gotten into my nightstand and picked up a card that Mike and sent and I saved. Upon further inspection, I saw that it was blank and I didn't recognize it. My second thought was, "Oh how sweet, Mike got me a card today!" Abby must have found his hiding place and ratted him out.
So I called him to say, "Sorry, your surprise was found out, but I love the card!" Well, Mike hadn't (yet) gotten me a card today. (It's not like he wasn't doing anything yesterday! He definitely should have... Not like he was having a baby or anything! wink, wink :D
That being said, we both have no idea where she got the card. And having an applicable card for today, today? Crazy!!! Abby and I did go out yesterday to fill Mike's prescriptions but we didn't stop to look at cards at all. Anyway, I guess if any of you recognize THIS card, let me know :) If not, I guess we will just appreciate the card Abby gave to us for Valentine's Day!

Mike's Baby
Mike had a baby today! He woke me up this morning around 6:45am to tell me that he thought he was passing a kidney stone. He then told me he thought he could drive himself to the ER and so as we got his insurance card and a check for the deductable ready, he decided his pain was too great to even move.
By watching us this morning, you really would have thought we were having a baby with the rolls reversed. I woke Abby and headed for the car without a jacket for either one of us, luckily she had her blanket. I then forgot to lock the door until I was in the car. Once I got back in the car, I proceeded to put the key in the ignition only to be told by Mike, that the car was already on. We then ZOOMED to the hospital.
Once inside the ER, paperwork finished, they gave him a bed but couldn't give him medication to help the pain, until the doctor ordered it. I have never seen Mike cry, until today. Big sobs. Yes, it was THAT painful. I needed to get back home for Alex (I couldn't get ahold of his mom). So I left. In calling him later that morning to check on him, it sounded like he didn't get his meds for almost a half hour after being admitted. Five morphine injections later, his pain subsided to tolerable.
Mike finally came home to have his baby about 11:30am, after all his tests were finished. In picking him up, he told me that we chose an "Out of Network Provider"... Man-O-Man, I am not going to like THAT bill. They didn't tell us that when he was admitted! It makes me so irritated!
Anyway, with all that being said, Mike had his baby today around 3:30pm. I jokingly asked if he would name it. He then told me it would be named, S.O.B.
I had to chuckle at that, how appropriate! Mike now feels much better, and I am glad today is finished (for the most part).

I Love You
... And last but certainly not least, my favorite. (Well for you readers, first, my favorite.) I think I was starting to bug her, so she growled at me. Growled, can you believe that??? Anyway, I did catch her saying, "I Love You", on camera. It is also getting clearer. I can never hear it enough. Isn't she sweet, growl and all???

Mama Abby and Her Baby
Abby was so cute tonight, I saw her heading upstairs and I grabbed the camera. Notice the way she is holding the baby's head as she walks. Everything is great until Abby wants to watch herself in the camera. Too bad for baby :(

Neglectful Parent?
I wasn't going to blog today, but as I changed my blog layout for the 900th time in 20 hours, I realized that all my last posts about Abby are of her with morning rats' nest, breakfast face, and undershirt only outfits. So I decided to post pictures of Abby this afternoon, so you could see that I'm not as neglectful as my posted pictures paint me. :)
I will say that it is harder to see infant, baby, or even toddler everyday. When the nurse tells you at the hospital that, "time flies; enjoy it now," you had better believer her!

Its Potty/Party Time!!!
We have been spending more potty/party time recently. Hopefully we will get it down, right now it just isn't happening. It amazes me all the figiting she can do in one place (that's even w/o sugar!) Abby was having such a good time, that I grabbed the camera yesterday morning. The video WAS longer, and she had more things to say, but I accidentally showed her business (if you know what I mean, and it's not THAT kind of video!)
P.S. I also wanted to show you what her latest trick is, she did it later on in the video. Since I couldn't extend the video, I was able to take a picture off the video for you to see. Recently, she gives us a "Thumbs Up". It's really funny, mainly because everytime she uses it, it's applicable to the situation. Both Mike and I have no idea how she started the "thumbs up". If you have really done something "cool", she'll even give you a double thumb's up.
