I used to ride with my dad in the potato truck and we would listen to Paul Harvey 's "The Rest of the Story." I miss those long summer days, my dad, and Paul Harvey; but now you may hear the rest of OUR story! ..."Good Day"

Mike's Baby

Mike had a baby today! He woke me up this morning around 6:45am to tell me that he thought he was passing a kidney stone. He then told me he thought he could drive himself to the ER and so as we got his insurance card and a check for the deductable ready, he decided his pain was too great to even move.

By watching us this morning, you really would have thought we were having a baby with the rolls reversed. I woke Abby and headed for the car without a jacket for either one of us, luckily she had her blanket. I then forgot to lock the door until I was in the car. Once I got back in the car, I proceeded to put the key in the ignition only to be told by Mike, that the car was already on. We then ZOOMED to the hospital.

Once inside the ER, paperwork finished, they gave him a bed but couldn't give him medication to help the pain, until the doctor ordered it. I have never seen Mike cry, until today. Big sobs. Yes, it was THAT painful. I needed to get back home for Alex (I couldn't get ahold of his mom). So I left. In calling him later that morning to check on him, it sounded like he didn't get his meds for almost a half hour after being admitted. Five morphine injections later, his pain subsided to tolerable.

Mike finally came home to have his baby about 11:30am, after all his tests were finished. In picking him up, he told me that we chose an "Out of Network Provider"... Man-O-Man, I am not going to like THAT bill. They didn't tell us that when he was admitted! It makes me so irritated!

Anyway, with all that being said, Mike had his baby today around 3:30pm. I jokingly asked if he would name it. He then told me it would be named, S.O.B.

I had to chuckle at that, how appropriate! Mike now feels much better, and I am glad today is finished (for the most part).

LOL! I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't laugh, but that was so hysterically written, I couldn't help myself. I certainly hope Mike feels better soon. I know what child-birth feels like, and they do say that kidney stones is equivalent! So I feel his pain. Hope he recovers quickly!

Okay, I know you have a lot going on, but I tagged you on my blog to do a little about me survey! Have fun with that!
